As part of its support of students in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District, the Saddleback Valley Public Schools Foundation (SVPSF) is proud to present this year's scholarship to deserving seniors graduating from our high schools.
2024 Mission Viejo Company Scholarship was awarded in the amount of $500 each.
2024 Recipients

Annabelle Deng
Trabuco Hills High School Recipient
Annabelle Deng, with a 5.08 GPA, will be attending UCLA to major in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics and plans to become a physician. She is a full diploma candidate for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. She was selected out of two hundred students to participate in the UCI Summer Surgery Program and acquired hands-on experience in surgical techniques, including suturing and operating the Da Vinci robot. She also worked as a paid intern at an acupuncture clinic shadowing physicians and learning diverse treatment approaches. She volunteered at Kaiser Permanente at the gift shop and information desk. She founded a local chapter of Dear Asian Youth to raise awareness about racial inequalities and promote Asian culture, organized workshops and engaged with legislators on critical issues such as gun control and racial violence. She helped to set up a weekly Irvine Chinese School event of Tea and Breakfast, an event dedicated to supporting local senior citizens. She has been on the varsity swim team all four years at THHS and has earned the Scholar-Athlete award. She volunteered for the Red Cross Club as a Treasurer and a Vice-President. She has also been a member of the International Club and hosted fundraisers for countries in need. Annabelle will use her experiences, skills, and unwavering dedication to serve others, driving positive change in healthcare and beyond.

Sofia Arjonilla
Mission Viejo High School Recipient
Sofia Arjonilla, with a 4.93 GPA, will be attending UC Berkeley this fall majoring in Business Administration and plans to build a career in Forensic Accounting. She has been an active member of the American Red Cross Club and helped establish events for blood donation and fundraising. She has been on the Orange County Red Cross Youth Advisory Council for several years and was awarded Treasurer of the Year from the American Red Cross OC out of fifty-six high school Red Cross clubs across Orange County. She has been involved with the City of Mission Viejo Activities Committee, SVUSD Student Advisory Committee, the National Honor Society and California Scholarship Federation. As a member of the California Association of Student Councils (CASA), she worked with other students on the Government Affairs and Policy Committee to present a proposal to the California School Education Department to address socioeconomic activities for low-income students. She also helped other students by providing tutoring for AP Physics and Algebra 2. She has received the MVHS Excellence Award for several subjects and was recognized in the College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program.

Tristan Balliente
Silverado High School Recipient
Tristan Balliente is an extremely ambitious, creative, and determined student. He has been awarded the Honor Roll twice this school year and recently earned the English Department Lofty Eagle Award. He will be going to Saddleback College to explore two career choices. He is interested in Communications and Biology. For Communications, he plans to enroll in language courses and learn about cultures and ethnicities to improve his chances of landing a position with the airlines as a flight attendant. He is also interested in neuroscience and if he chooses to pursue Biology, he would like to transfer to UC Irvine and become a neurosurgeon.

Adam Razo
Silverado High School Recipient
Adam Razo is planning on attending Saddleback College, then transfer to the University of Seattle or UC San Diego to earn a degree in mechanical engineering. While attending college he also plans to work with his uncle who is a mechanical engineer to receive hands-on experience in that field. He will continue to volunteer at his mother's non-profit organization, Teyolia. He would also like to pursue his interest in playing the guitar and writing music. Adam has been involved at Silverado High as a representative for the student body during PBIS (Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports) meetings. He has earned multiple awards such as Honor Roll, Distinguished Achievement Award, Soaring Eagle, and Lofty Eagle Award.
