After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Laura Glick worked in human resources, then channel sales in the IT industry. When her children were young, Laura chose to step back from the workforce to be a stay-at-home mom. She became involved with Saddleback Valley schools as a parent volunteer when her children entered the district in 2008. Laura’s volunteer roles in the SVUSD community have included PTA president, Reflections chairperson, School Site Council member, PTSO treasurer and Saddleback Valley PTA Council treasurer, membership VP and parliamentarian. She looks forward to drawing on her volunteer experience to help build SVEF programs that enable all students to thrive in our schools.
Now that her children are off to college, Laura has eased back into the corporate world working for a major telecommunications company. She’s currently managing meeting logistics and event planning for an enterprise sales team. In her spare time, Laura can often be found cheering for her son at high school track meets and at her daughter’s collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling meets, or on nearby hiking trails with her husband and dog.

Michele Sparks - Advisor
Michele is a mother, wife, business woman, education advocate and dedicated community volunteer. Her calling to serve all students in SVUSD started at her children’s school sites. Michele grew up in a low-income household, she started working at 12 years old, working full-time at 16 & taking classes at the community college her junior year in high school based on the guidance of her high school teachers & counselor. A key factor in her drive to give back and serve our public schools is her personal experience as a first-generation college graduate, in which my teachers and counselors inspired & gave her the guidance and resources to succeed.
Michele wants to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education & the resources they need to be successful. Over the past 13 years, her 3 children have all attended our SVUSD schools. She has actively advocated for education in our schools, serving in many capacities: PTA/PTO President at Valencia Elementary & La Paz Intermediate, chairing numerous PTA events & programs K-12, SVPTA Council President, SVPTA VP of Advocacy, School Site Councils K-12, PBIS teams, Chair of the SVUSD College & Career Fair and now President of the Educational Foundation.
