College & Career Readiness

At the Saddleback Valley Public Schools Foundation (SVPSF), we are committed to preparing students for success beyond the classroom. Our College & Career Readiness initiatives provide students with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to explore career paths, plan for higher education, and develop the professional skills that will set them up for long-term success. Through hands-on programs, local partnerships, and community engagement, we aim to bridge the gap between education and real-world opportunities.

Career Expo @ Schools

One of the ways we support career readiness is through our Career Expo program, hosted directly on high school campuses. These expos provide students with the chance to explore a wide variety of career paths, hear from professionals in different industries, and gain insights into the skills and education required for their chosen fields.

The Career Expo brings local professionals—from trades, healthcare, technology, business, the arts, and more—into the classroom to share their experiences and advice. Students can ask questions, learn about different roles, and see firsthand how their academic choices can impact their future careers. By engaging with professionals in a real-world setting, students gain clarity about potential career paths and start to develop the skills and mindset necessary to succeed in the workforce.

We invite local professionals who are passionate about mentoring and inspiring the next generation to join us. By volunteering at a Career Expo, you can make a tangible impact on students’ futures and help shape the next generation of the Saddleback Valley workforce. Interested professionals can fill out a simple survey to sign up and share their expertise with our students.

College & Career Fair

Complementing our on-campus expos, the SVUSD College & Career Fair provides a larger-scale platform for students to connect with colleges, universities, trade schools, and employers. This annual event allows students to explore postsecondary education options and career opportunities in one place.

At the College & Career Fair, students can:

  • Meet admissions representatives from a wide range of colleges, universities, and vocational programs.
  • Discover apprenticeship, internship, and employment opportunities.
  • Attend workshops and presentations on college applications, financial aid, career planning, and professional skills.
  • Learn about industry trends, career pathways, and in-demand skills from local employers and professionals.

The Fair encourages students to think critically about their future, ask questions, and gather the information they need to make informed decisions about both college and career pathways. By exposing students to a variety of postsecondary options, the event helps them envision their future and plan actionable steps to achieve their goals.
